PARIS 2024 OLYMPICS AND PARALYMPICS GAMES – ATHLETES VILLAGE MANUAL OF URBAN DESIGN

In the summer of 2024, Paris hosted the Olympic and Paralympic Games. For four years, from the city's bid in 2016 to the start of construction in 2020, Perrault Architecture was the lead architect for the project management consortium, chief urban planner and, as such, designer of the Athletes' Village.

GROUNDSCAPES DESIGN LAB – RETHINKING CITIES UNDERGROUND

Beneath the ground line hides a universe of possibilities, new places, existing or to be created. The Groundscape is the last space to conquer for our cities, offering a powerful catalyst of urban networks, a naturally ideal thermal inertia, respect for the landscape, enhancement of heritage and a unique palette of lights.

MESH / WEAVE THE METAL – FROM INDUSTRY TO ARCHITECTURE

Metal mesh is spiral-wound, braided, and knitted. It comes in steel, aluminum, bronze, or copper. It can be used for facades, roofing, curtains, decorations, tapestries, or furniture. Both flexible and sturdy, opaque and transparent, it is devilishly ambivalent and ready to do anything to complement the architect's vision.

CONSERVATION OF THE DOMAINE DE FRAPOTEL – PRESENTATION, HERITAGE, LEGACY

In 2020, Gaëlle Lauriot-Prévost and Dominique Perrault created the association for the conservation of the Domaine de Frapotel to enable as many people as possible to discover, through the eyes of contemporary designers, an important part of 20th-century architecture.

HOTEL METROPOLE STRATEGY – LIVING IN THE GRAND PARIS

“Hôtel Métropole” is a research project born out of the Atelier International du Grand Paris (AIGP), which proposes to rethink the fragmented map of the Greater Paris metropolitan area using fictional cartography, gently infiltrating urbanity without imposing a single model of city.

CARPARK FUTURES, OPPORTUNITIES IN THE UNDERGROUND

Parking lots are being reinvented to build the city of tomorrow: in response to changing urban lifestyles, Indigo and Perrault Architecture are drawing on their experience in underground infrastructure to imagine a new vision for the parking lot of the future.
