On a 10ha site, laboratories, offices, auditorium, restaurant, garden and parking are organized around an orthogonal grid which enhances existing infrastructure and allows for a modular phasing of the program.
The first phase includes a tower housing laboratories and offices, whose composite draped envelope—metal mesh, windbreaks, and photovoltaic cells—optimizes light and energy. Floating above the base, it forms an atrium open to the environment, blurring the boundaries between inside and outside and asserting the building’s sculptural presence.
