DESCRIPTION
Thanks to the raised ground level, two sloped roofs, shaped like half-discs, emerge naturally from the terrain. A narrow sub-surface channel allows the sports facilities to be slid beneath each of the slabs, thereby integrating them into the site. Far from being limited to occasional use, this evolving architecture stimulates the city’s social life: the accessible roofs become vibrant public spaces that also house a field of solar panels, providing sustainable energy to power the ice rink. By breaking with the conventional typology of stadiums, this exploratory process aims to create a project that stands out as one of the most resilient in the history of the Olympic Games.
