DESCRIPTION
Its architecture brings together on a single site the reception area, a reading room equipped with modular furniture, offices and meeting rooms, an auditorium, as well as technical facilities and a parking lot. Externally, the building blends into its surroundings thanks to the landscaping of the surrounding public space, which connects it to the city while giving it a strong presence.
Inside, the spaces flow seamlessly: the vast, open reading room allows the eye to wander to the surrounding area, while intermediate zones create spaces for passage, meetings, and exhibitions. These peripheral circulation areas also contribute to the building’s thermal and acoustic insulation.
At the top, the office block stands as an independent volume, yet remains connected to the rest of the library, thus affirming the duality between functional privacy and openness to the city.
