DESCRIPTION
Winner of the competition launched in 2022 by the AP-HP (Paris Public Hospitals) and the City of Paris, the site hosted a community hub dedicated to the social and solidarity economy between 2023 and 2025, reinforcing its role as a vibrant and inclusive space. Cœur Paris is thus fully integrated into the neighborhood’s transformation. The architecture is the work of a consortium of four firms: Perrault Architecture for the Saint-Martin block, h2o architectes, Martinez Barat Lafore, and Nicolas Dorval-Bory for the Victoria block, in collaboration with the landscape architecture firm Roberta. The project aims to reveal the site’s Haussmannian character while optimizing its environmental performance through the restoration of heritage elements and improvements to the building envelope.
The intervention at the Saint-Martin block focuses in particular on the design of a “Chambord” style wooden staircase giving access to a 360° panoramic belvedere. It also includes the creation of a new reception hall, two green terraces offering views of the Seine and Parisian monuments, as well as green walkways in the courtyard of the building, designed as spaces of calm and breathing.
