DESCRIPTION
Located at the heart of the Shibaura district’s redevelopment, the business center serves three key purposes: to welcome and manage the flow of workers and visitors from the station, to create a commercial and cultural hub, and to spread its vitality throughout the entire district.
Analysis of the master plan highlighted the project’s defining structural strength: two towers aligned and facing each other, creating a powerful central axis and a spatial tension at the point where the buildings meet.

From this layout emerged the concept of the “confidante,” inspired by First Empire furniture and designed to encourage conversation in a setting that is both intimate and comfortable. Translated to an architectural scale, this principle gives rise to a fluid and inviting central space where the towers seem to engage in dialogue, where people’s paths cross, and where interactions converge. The ground floors and decks have been redesigned to highlight the transverse void between the towers and enhance the clarity of the main axis.
The symmetry of the layout clarifies the organization of pathways and converges toward a central plaza, repositioned at ground level to become the true heart of the project. Echoing the omnipresent presence of water in Shibaura, a double canopy extends in two opposite directions, guiding the pathways and sheltering pedestrians.
This duality is also reflected in the treatment of materials and colors: cool copper tones for work and rest areas, and warmer shades of red copper for spaces dedicated to interaction and communication.
The retail spaces on the ground floor benefit from an abundance of natural light thanks to openings onto the gardens. On the upper level, the deck features a pedestrian-friendly shopping street, punctuated by side gardens that extend the landscaped path and offer a true urban promenade.
