Stonecutters Bridge

Hong Kong, China

Design of a bridge over the Rambler Channel to connect the container port n°8 with the container port N°9, which will be situated on an artificially built part of the harbor in the port of Hong Kong. The only supporting pylon of the asymmetric bridge is a triangular space frame with a double «V» opened upward in the longitudinal direction and downward the transverse direction. The front legs hold the deck by means of two rows of cable stays, anchored inside these legs. The deck of the bridge with its streamlined cross section has a total width of 46 m and is entirely of steel construction.
