The foundation stone of the mixed-used project Vulcano in Zürich was laid on October 27th; Andreas Roth (product manager for the CSA RES investment group, Crédit Suisse AG), Dominique Perrault (DPA), Holger Hutmacher (leader of the a-ja Hotel Group) and Michael Schildknecht (Head Real Estate Development Steiner) attended the ceremony.
Located
between the Zurich Altstetten station and the future hockey/volleyball stadium,
the building is enclosed between the railways lines and the highway A1. It is
constituted by a 5-storeyed base of offices put together supporting 3 towers
equally sized. It is aligned on the street, in the right angle of each of the
towers, so it marks the addresses on the public place. The mixed-used building
includes housing units, offices, retails, etc. The built surface is estimated
to 37,200sqm. The 5-storeyed base will be built by the end of the year; the
completion of the construction work is scheduled in 2018.
A formal
ceremony for laying the first stone took place on October 27th, in the presence
of Andreas Roth (product manager for the CSA RES investment group,
Crédit Suisse AG), Dominique Perrault (DPA), Holger Hutmacher (leader of the a-ja
Hotel Group) and Michael Schildknecht (Head Real Estate Development Steiner). The
symbolic stone was made of a metal box including elements of each entity
(agreement, competition files, and tablet with info of the project).
