By overlooking the historic house without altering it, the project frees up ground space to create a French-style garden, a true urban oasis in the dense city, composed of flowerbeds, boxwood and rows of trees, which structures access and offers varied atmospheres for events.
The slender tower rising above rests on four metal pillars and organizes stacked, modular volumes: a language center, thematic universities, offices, and panoramic cafés open to the city. Vertical circulation is separated to ensure autonomy and fluidity, with panoramic elevators and service staircases located away from the original building. Each level features a specific layout, organized around open terraces ideal for planting, waiting areas, or temporary uses.
The façade combines glass and wood: the glass protects against the elements, while the rhythmic, semi-transparent wooden cladding filters the light, creates visual dynamism, and ensures continuity between the historic building and its extension. This project embodies a balance between cultural presence, functionality, and quality of urban life, offering a strong and contemporary symbol of France in the heart of Mexico City.
