Located on the place “De los Sitios”, historical heart of Zaragoza, the extension of the Goya Museum is thought like a true urban project intended at the same time for the population and the visitors. Preserving the buildings of the current museum, the agency conceives a project which surpasses the limits imposed by its architecture, and which supposes a revitalization of the place. The museum and the city merge on the place, where pedestrian courses animated by circular pavilions are organized. This external space where visitors like strollers can walk, have a coffee, take part in workshops, listen to music or a conference and get informed on the Zaragoza history. The project is a place of exchanges and meetings. This respectful project of its environment energises the Goya museum by light and full with life architectures, which are established delicately on the place, in act of humility towards the past architecture and the history of the city.
